Krake yo skull!

Krake yo' skull!

Another slew of plankton related dump:

Krake-SS

So, um, another moment of slight-genius. I’ve been plugging away at this Johannes Stark idea a great deal, and I came up with something he could develop. It’s a suit used by a special branch of the SS, the Krake-SS (Octopus-SS). Atomic-powered, armored suits. I have a sketch of their “death masks” (or helmets). I’ll upload soon. Just think of an octopus, though, molded slightly to resemble a human skull a bit more, and a gas mask.

So, why octopus? Because I think them shits look freaky. Also, I really like the idea of using eight tendril-type things as a major component of the suits. Think Doc Ock on crack, and, y’know, nazis.

My question is…what else could these bad ass atomic-powered suits do, or provide the wearer? Discuss!

Oooh! What if the Krake armor is essentially an atomic-powered hydrostatic exoskeleton?

A fluidic exoskeleton with an atomic-powered heart that pushes warm water around the skeleton to change the shape of th wearer (help contortionism/escapism, maybe some minor shape-shifting/disguising/camouflage ability and improved agility/performance, etc.)

    Have at ‘er.

    !

    That sounds fantastic.

I still think you’ve got to find a way to mix in the fly-armor idea, too, though. Maybe that’s what the U.S. counters with? Or, maybe the U.S. breaks out the flies, and the Nazi octopi swat them down in return?

I wish my first mental image hadn’t been this:

Seriously though, it’s a terrifying idea. What with crazy Nazi archaeology schemes and Alex’s mention of Cthulhu, I’m tempted to suggest that each masque could be a ritual artefact uncovered by the Nazis preserving some kind of weird racial memory of an encounter between the proto-German people and a weird alien octopus race. It would be entirely in keeping with the manner the Nazis approached science and myth for them to represent the masques as a triumph in favour of the ‘Ayran’ agenda whilst missing the point that the actual history of the masques detail a violent and bloody war in which the proto-Germans came out the worse for wear against these ‘monstrosities from beyond the stars’.

Did any of that make sense?

the atomic powered suits, really make me feel a big Fallout influence. which is not a bad thing. The designs of the 50’s sci-fi is some of my favourites.
